Promoting sports and sportsmanship among school students is one of the most important items in our agenda. As part of children’s day celebrations, SKVT Alumni Trust conducted a cricket match in which talented students participated and showed their cricketing and team leading skills.
Two teams comprising of students from various classes and one alumnus, participated in this match and had a spirited match between them. Team batting first scored 52 in 12 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Team batting second successfully chased the score in 9 overs for loss of only 4 wickets. Jaydeep, the captain of the winning team, was named Man of the match, who scored 17 runs and took 2 wickets.
The teams were trained by Jagadish Setti, alumni of the year 1993, 10 days prior to the match. 13 players will be selected from these two teams to represent SKVT School for the Zonal level GRIG team. The match was played in a very professional manner in the SKVT College ground backside of SKVT School with all the proper cricket gear and equipment.
This cricket match was made possible due a kind donation of Bhaskar Krishna Setti who donated sports equipment including helmets, bats, pads, gloves and 10 leather balls. He also donated other sports related items like football, handball, throw ball etc. Bhaskar Krishna, alumni of the year 1988 is a cricket fanatic and is a good cricket player himself.
